Event Tracking Using Visual Tagger (Beta)
The "Visual Tagger" is a widget that loads on your website and lets you select any element, button or form and choose which event to trigger when its interacted with.
A few points to note before getting started:
Visual Tagger is in beta right now - please let us know if you come across any issues or if you have any feedback
Visual Tagger is only available for Framer right now, but we'll be rolling out to all platforms soon
You can only load the Visual Tagger from the PixelFlow dashboard
Only you can see the Visual Tagger on your website - nobody else
How to Use the Visual Tagger
Click on the "Track More Events" button in the top right corner of your dashboard
Select "Via Visual Tagger" and press Next
Your website will open with the Visual Tagger widget loaded.
Click on "Track Something New" in the widget and select any element such as a button or form that you'd like to track
"When the Element is Clicked" is auto selected - now you can hover over any element on your website and it will show you all of the trackable elements
Alternatively you can select "When This Page Loads" to trigger an event to Meta when the page is loaded
Trigger an event to Meta from a button or element click
With "When the Element is Clicked" selected, click any element like a button, image etc. and then choose what event to trigger to Meta
If there are additional fields that will contain metadata that could be sent with the event (like name, value, email etc.) you can select "User details area and value" and then click on the area that contains the information. This lets us collect that information and send it along with the event
Alternatively if you'd like to add a fixed value to the event, click on "Add Fixed Value" and enter the value to send this along with the event to Meta. This will let the revenue show up in your Events Manager.
Press "Save Trigger"
Trigger an event to Meta from a form submission
With "When the Element is Clicked" selected, click the submission button on any form to trigger an event when that form is submitted
Note: The event will only be triggered when the form is submitted successfully, not just when the button is clicked
Choose the event type that should be triggered from the dropdown
The widget will automatically find all of the additional form sections to track such as name, email etc. Ensure the matching is correct. If there are additional sections to the form to track that don't show up automatically in the list, click on "Track extra data" and select the section on your form to track (eg. phone number)
Double check all of the information is correct in the "Confirm Setup" screen and press "Confirm"
