Turn off automatic event tracking in Meta
Turn off Track events automatically without code in Meta Events Manager so Meta's AI-detected events stop firing alongside the events PixelFlow configures for the same Pixel.
Automatic events are events Meta detects on its own from your website activity. When Meta automatically adds an event that PixelFlow is already tracking, the same action gets sent to Meta twice. That inflates your conversion counts and distorts ad reporting, so it's worth disabling when you run tracking through PixelFlow.
Turn off automatic events
Only a Meta user with access to the Pixel in Events Manager can change this setting. It is a Meta-side control, not a PixelFlow dashboard setting.
Open Meta Events Manager.
Click Data sources in the left menu.
Select your Pixel.
Click Settings.
Under Event setup, set Track events automatically without code to OFF.
As of August 3, 2026, any new Pixel added to your business portfolio has automatic events turned on by default during setup. Check this setting on every recently created Pixel.
What happens next
Turning off Meta's automatic events does not stop PixelFlow. PixelFlow continues to send its browser and server events for that Pixel, and the setting only stops Meta's own AI-detected events. Check your PixelFlow event logs to confirm each action is now sent once, and review Meta's diagnostics to confirm events are no longer coming from multiple sources.
If duplicates continue after you disable automatic events, another Pixel installation, a native platform integration, or the Facebook Event Setup Tool may still be firing the same event.
